Delayed But Not Derailed

Delayed But Not Derailed

Hello again. Hey Ladies! is back—though much later than I’d hoped. Why the delay? Well, life happened, as it tends to, and I got a little stuck. Each self-imposed deadline I missed started to feel like a personal failure, and before I knew it, everything had stalled.

I started Hey Ladies! to create a space where we could navigate menopause together. The newsletter was a part of a personal pivot to expand my career and head back to school to study functional nutrition. In my head, this journey was going to be a straight shot—a smooth, forward path. But once again, the universe had a good laugh. My big “ah-ha” moment came when I realized I’d set this bi-monthly schedule so I could change it, too!

So what do we do when life throws us off course? First, know you’re not alone. For me, embracing the flexibility to pivot and giving myself some grace made all the difference.

Whatever your path, remember: progress isn't about perfection. It's about taking each step, even the messy ones, and building small habits that help us adapt along the way. So here I am, a lot later than planned, but with a bit more resilience. And maybe that’s exactly what real progress looks like.

So, if you find yourself stuck, here are a few things that might help:

  • Redefine Success – Let go of rigid timelines and be realistic about your time and life commitments.
  • Practice Self-Compassion – Acknowledge setbacks without judgment.
  • Prioritize Small Habits – Small steps build a foundation for big changes
  • Embrace Flexibility – Plans change, and that’s okay.
  • Take Ownership of Your Timeline – Adjust goals as needed; they’re yours.
  • Focus on Your Journey – Comparison is a trap; we each have our own pace.
  • Celebrate Every Step – Honor each bit of progress; it keeps the path positive.

So, Hey Ladies! continues. My new goal is to send it out monthly, but if it slips, you'll know why.

Until next time!
